At JRB, engineering means much more than simply developing new products. No other manufacturer of quick couplers and attachments adheres to OEM standards the way that JRB does, which is why JRB quick couplers and attachments offer versatility, efficiency and safety you won’t find anywhere else; and why only JRB quick couplers let you get the most out of your equipment.
New Product Development
The New Product Development (NPD) department was established officially in August 2002. Prior to NPD’s formation, new product development was conducted as a part of the engineering effort. Seeing the need to place more emphasis on the product development process, a new department was established to focus solely on new product. JRB’s NPD Department is responsible for the design and the development of state-of-the-art products to meet present and future needs of the end-user. By infusing new, technologically advanced and innovative products, JRB will maintain its role as a leading supplier of couplers and attachments.
NPD capabilities include the use of state-of-the-art equipment and software that includes CAD, 3-D modeling, Finite Element Analysis, PDM, animation and dynamic simulation of the products in the design process. After the initial design steps and analysis are made, a prototype is fabricated and tested. After completion of the product evaluation, implementation of refinements and the safety review process, the products are further tested through JRB’s local end-user network for a designated period of time before the product becomes commercially available to the industry.
Application Engineering
The Application Engineering Department at JRB had been responsible for all engineering functions until the creation of the New Product Development group in August of 2002. With the NPD Department assuming the role of new product design, the Applications Group was able to focus more attention on improvements to existing products - both in design and performance. Using some of the same tools used in the NPD Group - FEA (Finite Element Analysis), CAD with solid modeling and strain gauge testing - JRB's existing product line has been effectively enhanced to meet increasing market demands on quality and longevity.
Along with the state-of-the-art equipment and software, the Application Engineering Group has an average of ten years experience in attachment design and can apply this experience to supply unique designs for special applications. Supporting this experience are years of interaction with the engineering departments of each OEM. Couple this with engineering capabilities at each of our three plant locations, direct availability to customers, field service personnel and utilization of high quality components in each design - it's no wonder that JRB has the leading engineering department in the attachment industry.
